SITUATION/STORY

Au Courant Hair Design is a boutique salon and day spa located in the quaint town of Mercer Island. I began having my hair cut there in 2000 and met the co-owner Pam Crouch. The salon has a very unique environment – everyone who works in the salon provides extreme customer care and service. Each service is performed with precision, warmth and professionalism. You want to be there – and frequently – for hair, make-up, manicures, pedicures (best mani and pedi I’ve had anywhere!!), massage and soul talk. I shared with Pam ideas about how to bring  her brand more into the salon in 2001. We began to use her logo on” silent talkers,” advertise salon services in unique places around the salon and in nearby condominiums and apartments, designed a new, elegant gift certificate and holder and started a newsletter which was distributed at the salon. Now, on a regular basis, Pam and I hold strategic marketing meetings. Pam recently had a website designed for the salon; I brought ideas to make it more personal. On a monthly basis I develop newsletter copy and find art for the publication, which is now an on-line communication.
